The Children’s Musical Theater Festival is 9-day performance based theater program in New York City. Students cast in the Festival will have the opportunity to originate roles in new musical works by up-and-coming theater writers or new cut-down versions of established musicals. The CMTF program is open to students ages 8-19.

Students are split into two groups based on age. Each show will have 2 performances in an Off–Broadway state of the art theatre – Children’s Musical Theater Festival is by audition only. Live auditions take place March 4th & 5th in NYC. Video/online submissions can be received through March 6, 2017.

For Summer 2017 we are thrilled to continue our relationship with Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW), We will be workshopping new TRW titles for their school edition/Young@Part catalogue!

CMTF's shows are selected from open submissions. Email for more information. The festival offers writers — whether well-established or up-and-coming — the opportunity, space and resources to develop and showcase new family-friendly musicals.

The Children’s Musical Theater Festival is produced by Broadway Workshop, New York City’s top training program for young actors and its not-for-profit branch, Project Broadway.

Broadway Workshop gives young performers of all skill levels the opportunity to explore their creativity and perfect their craft in acting, singing and dance. Programs are taught by working professionals, from Broadway stars to casting agents to top theater experts. Through theatrical workshops, industry showcases, summer camps, private and small group trainings and full-scale productions, participants gain experience in all areas of the theater while learning necessary career skills in a supportive, positive and most of all FUN environment!
